The original art for this piece stemmed from a painting I acquired at a thrift store. It was a midcentury piece and I admired how the artist depicted the style of cat. The artwork itself lacked depth, so I added my own touches to bring it to life. The word "No" was added because I felt the attitude of the cat conveyed utter disgust at anything undesirable. I feel we all just want to express that same sentiment in certain sceneries in our lives, so I felt it would resonate with others. I gave a shirt to a friend and she seems to enjoy wearing it to work. It might be her silent protest to those aspects of work life that just suck.
